I'm Ray Anderson, Founder and Chairman of Interface, Inc. 

Welcome to MissionZero.org,  and thank you for joining an exciting journey to create a sustainable society.  You may know that Interface set out on our journey in 1994, to operate our petrol-intensive company in such a way as to take from the Earth nothing the Earth can not naturally and rapidly renew, and to do no harm to the environment in the manufacture of our products, and to preserve Earth's natural resources for all future generations. 

We made a promise to our associates, to our suppliers, our customers, communities, and to the planet to eliminate any negative impact our company may have on the environment by the year 2020.  We call that promise Mission Zero. Since we began our journey, we've made significant progress as a company in eliminating waste and emissions, reducing energy usage, and using fewer natural resources to make our products.  Our sustainability journey have forever changed us individually, as a company, our culture, our entire industry, and our vision of the future.  This site, MissionZero.org is an extension of our efforts to raise environmental awareness and to encourage others to join the larger mission to preserve the Earth for future generations.   

We know that the Interface story is just one of many others, from organizations large and small, as well as from individuals who are committed to the same sustainability goals.  MissionZero.org is intended to give all of us a common meeting place, to share these inspirational stories, and to join in a common journey.  MissionZero.org is designed as a living network and a one-stop resource for sustainability content across industries - one that provides information and learning, generates discussion, and facilitates connections.   

We know for a network to work, it first has to net.  MissonZero.org is about netting the network.   

It is my hope that MissonZero.org will educate, empower, and inspire you as you proceed along your own sustainability path.  I believe in the power of one and that each one of us can make a difference.  Just as a stone tossed into a pond can create a ripple that reaches far away shores, so to can your contributions on this site create a positive ripple that can inspire, inform, and guide others along their respective journeys.  So, I encourage you to explore the vast resources and tools available here at MissionZero.org and be a part of this important, growing, global conversation around sustainable business practices and ideas.
