Love the great outdoors -- nature, farming, nurturing plants and trees
Have been described as the 'son of Eull Gibbons' because my father knew every animal, insect, tree and plant by sight
I find balance and harmony in the great outdoors and travel to the country at least every two weeks although I work mostly in metropolitan environments
Hi Steve! Thanks for your note. Greenbuild was great this year - I was thrilled to have the chance to listen to 3 experts who I think represent the cutting edge in sustainability: Van Jones, Bill McKibben, and Janine Benyus.
I felt a real shift towards a greater sense of community and commitment to sustainability among the attendees. It seems the focus of the conference moved beyond counting LEED points into bigger questions about sustainability - including how to make green more accessible to everyone in our society.
Overall, I was inspired and motivated, and I'm excited about the launch of MissionZero.org as a place to collectively share our thoughts and dreams for a new sustainable future. As Dayna Baumeister reminded us, we can't let go of the old system until we define what it is that we want to rebuild.
